PROPAN Cerakote CTP 980 WB Ceramic Base Coat for Bathtub, Toilet, Washbasin


CERAKOTE CTC-997 PU HQ is a high-quality 2-component polyurethane paint specially designed to restore old or worn bathtubs to look like new. It provides a thick film coating with a very attractive finish, does not yellow, and is easy to apply by brush or spray gun.

Application Procedure:

  1. Clean the bathtub thoroughly from dirt, mold, etc. Sand with sandpaper grit 240 to 400 depending on the level of dirt.

  2. For metal bathtubs, remove rust and coat with anti-rust epoxy paint (zinc chromate/zinc phosphate).

  3. Mix primer coat CERAKOTE CTP 980 WB with weight ratio Component A : Component B = 4 : 1. For spray gun application, thin with epoxy thinner or PU thinner about 10-20%. Stir well and use immediately as the mixture cures in 45 minutes.

  4. Spray the primer evenly with spray gun in a single coat.

  5. If the old paint on the bathtub is not peeling, only dull, proceed directly to top coat application after primer has dried at least 12 hours and has been finely sanded with #400 sandpaper. Remove sanding dust.

  6. Mix top coat CERAKOTE CTC-997 PU HQ with volume ratio Component A : Component B = 2 : 1, thin with PU thinner 10-20%, stir well.

  7. Spray the top coat with a spray gun (HVLP type recommended) for best results.
